Lovely 4 panel jacket. Designed by Sabine Heusler-Schick, with special artwork of the band by Robert Schick (Kenny's brother). Photography by Kenny Schick. That's Francis Rae on the cover a photo taken down in our creek... I authentically got cold and wet.

The sad tale of Francis Rae who's husband went to war, the civil war, and was gone a lot longer than anyone thought. She thought he must surely have died, so she shacked up with his brother, who did not go to war on account of his bunged up leg an' all. One day the husband appeared at the door of their cottage and he was mad, really mad, and not thinking straight, on account of the war an' all, grabbed Francis Rae by the hair and dragged her home, across the river, where she lost her footing and fell and cracked her head wide open. She died, on account of the loss of blood and all. When she awoke (as a ghost) she saw here husband knee deep in the river, arms out stretched to Jesus, crying like a baby, wailing like a child, she slapped him, why you crying she said, I'm the one that - then she saw the blood, and her self face down in the water...oh... then a white light swirled above her head, kinda like a hurricane, and swooped her up into it...
More of a traditional type ditty, on account of that it's set in the South... played on banjouke and acoustic guitar and stand up bass
lyrics
oh francis rae by the
cat fish river
in the old wood cabin that we
built together
if I could write you I would
send you a letter
the war is ended
and Im only da-y--s away
oh francis rae
all these years I’m longing
I miss you more than I could
ever say
I hope your ankles are
cooling in the river
the war is ended
and Im only da-y--s away
out past the bridge and the
rocks in the river the
waters run red
where the angels fell
I saw the light high up above me
hurricane take me to eternal grace
hurricane take me to eternal grace
oh if I could write you and if
only you could read
I would send a parson to be
waiting when I came
to hold us by the hands and
bind us together
now the war is over and
you did sure--ly wait
oh francis rae
stand at your door way
empty and hollow
the rooms stark and bare
I wonder the street to the
house of my brother
I see in the window that you
surely did--nt wait
out past the bridge and the
rocks in the river the
waters run red
where the angels fell
I saw the light high up above me
hurricane take me to eternal grace
hurricane take me to eternal grace
oh francis rae I can
see you on the table
arms embraced on my
brothers kitchen bench
I flew through the door with my
face all a flaming
the war is over
and my lover did--nt wait
took her by the hair and
marched her to the river
she lost her footing and she
fell on the rocks with
blood on my hands
I could surely couldnt save her
the war is over
and I have lost m--y love
out past the bridge and the
rocks in the river the
waters run red
where the angels fell
I saw the light high up above me
hurricane take me to eternal grace
hurricane take me to eternal grace
hurricane take me to eternal grace
